Master's Thesis Executive Summary
As a pivotal part of my master's degree journey at the New School, I embarked on a transformative project – crafting a 30-page thesis that would seamlessly integrate the spectrum of skills I had cultivated. My mission was clear: bridge the gap between my existing experience and my music marketing aspirations. My solution was an innovative strategic plan for an independent music publisher, tailored to elevate the visibility of its catalog among a hyper-specific demographic: LGBTQ-identified Gen Zers. This comprehensive blueprint encompassed a nuanced social media strategy, precise sync goals, and an engaging fan-centered event concept. The result was not just a passing grade but a solidification of my M.S. in Media Management. This project stands as a testament to my prowess in strategic synthesis and creative brainstorming, encapsulating my ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver tangible, impactful marketing solutions via a distinctive professional brand.
Promotional Video for Webseries
During my graduate-level Digital Video Editing course at The New School, I undertook the task of crafting a promotional video for my colleague's acclaimed web series 'Queen's English.' Blending existing show footage with soundbites I personally recorded with one of the show's producers, I captured the essence of this comedy about young queer friends in NYC. This creative endeavor, underpinned by astute content selection and insightful interviews, resulted in an engaging video for social media. This project highlights my ability to seamlessly merge technical prowess with creative vision, resonating with the series' audience and aligning with its objectives.
Media Textbook Cover Design
Stepping into the realm of graphic design during a graduate-level media production class, I proposed a new textbook cover for The New School's Media Studies M.A. program. With a palette of Photoshop techniques, I conjured custom shades, layered textures, and composed original patterns. My resulting design mirrors the vibrancy of the program's students and faculty, echoing their diverse disciplines. This cover, an animated scene against the university's signature colors, encapsulates the very soul of the program and validates my adeptness in translating concepts into captivating visuals that resonate and communicate.
BMI International Partner Visits
Within my role as Administrative Assistant and later as International Relations Coordinator at BMI, I embraced the responsibility of orchestrating the technical visits that are a valuable line of communication between BMI and our 90+ global Collective Management Organization partners. My thorough attention to detail and organizational skills came to the forefront as I artfully facilitated over 10 of these visits. From assessing meeting goals to coordinating intricate logistics, I ensured seamless interactions that led to renewed partnerships, fortified business relationships, and enhanced transparency in foreign revenue collection. This success underscores my capacity to navigate strict deadlines, collaborate across cultural and national barriers, and drive revenue on a global scale.
Music Marketing Pitch
Immersed in a graduate-level Music Business class under the mentorship of a seasoned industry professional, I enjoyed a project close to my interests—to amplify exposure for MUNA's 'Anything But Me.' Crafting a live music experience in collaboration with the Lesbian Bar Project, my pitch combined the band's humor with the community significance of lesbian bars, capitalizing on the uptick in queer pop music interest during Pride month. My content strategy across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram was meticulously engineered to drive ticket sales and maximize revenue. This project showcases my ability to seamlessly intertwine creativity, strategy, and even LGBTQ+ advocacy, yielding both academic success and tangible marketing impact.
